hehheh

short but sweet, simply done but pretty funny, the x and check-mark graphics over the skipping rope and the cigarette were a good idea, Also, the 1954 copyright date was a nice touch I like how the tobacco employee being interviewed looks all shifty and just holds up the box after his one line. I got a good kick out of this one being a smoker myself, keep up the good work.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Nice

Sweet frame by framing man and very creative artistic quality to it, I enjoyed how randome everything was and how it was constantly changing even from more natural shapes to more geometric ones and back again, I think that The music was pretty good too, I couldn't hear all of it, cause I'm in a semi-loud place right now, but I think it was good from what I could hear so good work. Overall great job.

KidneyThief responds:

Hooray! Someone noticed! I put geometric shapes into this animation after realizing that my previous submission consisted of all organic shapes. Thank you for the review!

Wow

Very Detailed story here, and it took me a long time to read, but it was well worth it. To be honest though, my eyes are a bit sore from reading so much text from a screen, and I definitely have to take a break and just watch some other animations before I return to view book two. Once again, I am impressed by your gift for story telling, the story vaguely reminds me of a few of the Native American creation stories, but has a pretty unique flavor of its own. The drawing are well done, and although there wasn't much animation, the quality of the sroty more than made up for it. I watch so many cartoons and games here on Newgrounds, so thank you for reminding me of the subtle joys of reading a good story, which until today, I had not done for a couple of months, I'm going to check out some of your other animations before finishing the other two books, but I just wanted to say you did a nice job of this.

Virgilcomic responds:

Thanks so much, man. I see you've been catching up quite a bit. To tell truth there are big parts of this story that falls apart, something I got a little better at but am still learning. Thnanks for all the great feedback as well.

hahheheh

I enjoyed that, I really wish it had voice rather than text though. The drawings were okay, but looked flat and some of the animation could have been better but overall you did a good job and had a good sense of humor here as well, I love southpark, but the scenes with the deaths was just hilarious, nice 80's photofinish ending as well.

botimus responds:

Thanks, unfortunately back in 2000 I didn't have anyone to do the voices so it is what I could do at the time, with my talent.

cool

Nice episode, but the remake does sound like a good idea, just make sure that when you do it, you change it enough for people to really notice, because slight changes only are a sure recipe for disaster. tiny voice "disaster" but on a more serious note, nice flash so far here, the story seems like it will be very funny and interesting, and the little flying thing adds a good element of humor, due to it's sharply contrasting nature with the main characer. I enjoyed watching it and look forward to both your proposed remake and the continuation of the series, best of luck.

TacoRemix responds:

I plan on making the animations tons smoother with shading and.. well, pretty much starting the whole thing from scratch. appreciate the comments!

hmmm

On one hand, the opening gag was vey good, and I thought it was one of the best in this series, on the otherhand though it was very short overall. I enjoyed it nonetheless and think that although these three are only your first pieces, that your work shows a lot of promise, you've used various animation techniques, and did a good job of adding music and sound for your stuff so far, and I really look forward to seeing what else you come up with and your progression as a flash artist since you have such skill so early on in your flashes, Best of luck in future animations, and let me know when new stuff comes out., Later Dan

heh nice

I know some people, possibly including you the author, will question why I gave this a fulll ten, which is something I rarely do, but I have a soft spot for old fashioned style animation and film, and this really just hit that spot. Drawings and animation were nice. Good cute old fashioned character design, but still has a somewhat modernised feel to him, the do not push the button sign should have been in mor emodern text though, there was also a point where some text was on the screen, but passed to quickly to be read, I don;t know if this was intentional on your part or not but it actually had a good effect, because it reminded me of the nature of relly old cartoons which often had certain flaws or bugs that kind of gave them character in a way. Also, Nice work on the overall special effects for the film, the scrath lines along the film and the genereal fuzz looked good, and the music was well chosen, looking forward to seeing more cool animations from you.

PS. In your author's comments you say you will make more of these, how soon might they be released?

either way, PM me when you do.

MrMeeky responds:

Thank you for the kind words! All your points are very relevant, but quite a lot of the flaws are definitely intentional. There's also the fact that this looks more like it's set in the 50s and I'm not an expert of films from that era, but I know enough to know that silent films were long passed by then.

I'm hoping to produce many more of these, so I'll keep you updated!

Thanks again.

First off...

Nice music man, it is perfect for the background music in this as it is calming and lets you focus without an overly busy melody, Obviosly though I'm not giving you an eight for music alone, and DEFINITELY not for your drawings or animation, but the question you pose is an interesting one, and I very mnuch agree, my only point of note would be that regardless of the connectivity of the origins of things, we all coexist, man animals, plants, the earth itself, and so on, and to deny the implicit connections between these things would be philoosohical blindness. All things are connected, what affects another may affect you too, and the karmic circle of events is more of a complex scientific formula about the intricate and diverse effect one can have on their world and as a result on themselves than it is a thoelogical view. Great flash, sorry for the long response, but I rarely get the chance to have intellectual conversation anymore, so it was nice.

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

Ye I'm glad you like the music, I shall be making more :P but the animations were pretty poor I would agree. I kinda just put it together to see what people would think of it and most people seem pleased to see something like this so I will put a lot more effort into the next question that I pose.

Ye I pretty much agree with everything you said there, its all based on balancing the equation. If my mathematics was better maybe I would have been able to pose a theory but that's why I posted this to see what people with skills different to mine would be able to put forward or debate, regarding the theory :D

hmm

amusing still, but not quite as good as part one, mainly just cause it seems shorter. the Samus thing was pretty funny though, some of the animation for the other stuff could hale had more detailed movement. I sitll enjoyed it though, looking forward to seeing what part 3 has in store.

PenCapChew89 responds:

Tar m8

umm

The overall concept was okay and the drawings were simple, but they were okay too, the animation however was not very good, and could definitely use more detailed movement, and more effort all around.

HackerZC responds:

Back in 2000 I was just a stupid kid, didn't know shit about shit, and had a trial copy of Flash to play with.
It's complete crap. Most of what I made was actually. It's all just a way to waste time and have some fun, and maybe even learn something in the process.
